Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your coaching services unique?

My coaching services are unique because they are led by someone on the spectrum themselves (ASD, ADHD, OCD, GAD, & PTSD), offering a personal and empathetic understanding that is rare. I've probably "been there, done that" or gone through it with one of my kids or past clients.

What is the difference in coaching versus counseling?

Coaching is more ASD education and support, where counseling would be more of a delving into the past of a client.

Who can you help?

My program offers education and support to those either on the spectrum themselves, or ANYONE who is wanting to learn more about ASD.

What does your coaching service include?

My coaching services include education and support about ASD needs, triggers, decompression, "why's" to behaviors, sensory issues, social issues, relationship issues, etc. I'm here to help ASD make more sense.

Do I have to be in Oklahoma?

No. With life coaching, I am able to see anyone, anywhere through online sessions.

How do I start?

Email me and we can get a day and time set up for you. I will send you a link for our online session after you have filled out paperwork. Since this isn't through insurance, there is minimal paperwork, and you can just contact me as you need to instead of being locked into certain restraints. We can do one session or as many as you need. Payment is expected at the beginning of our session via cashapp or venmo.

What are your qualifications?

I am have been previously diagnosed with ASD, GAD, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD; so I have 48 years of LIFE experience. Both of my now adult children are also on the spectrum. I used to be a Licensed Professional Counselor for 7 years specializing in ASD, but I decided to go the Austism Life Coaching route instead due to the freedom of: out of state clients, helping people as they need it, and how they need it. I have a life coaching certification as well. I am currently working on getting recertified as a Certified Autism Specialist under my Life Coach.

Why do you use multiple names for ASD?

"Autism," "Asperger's," and "PDD-NOS" were used once, but now it is all under considered Autism Spectrum Disorder with "levels."

Level 1, think of formerly "Asperger's," or "high functioning," which are now condsidered by many as "offensive." It's very confusing depending on the age of the person you are talking to about ASD.  I try my best to use the terminology the client is best comfortable with, and I never want to offend anyone. Please be aware I was taught as the former, and as an ASDer, it's hard for me to call it something different. I'm trying to use "ASD" as a blanket terminology to help my brain with the change. ASDers don't like changes as we tend to write things in stone when we learn them.

Currently the DSM-5 uses three ASD levels of severity: Level 1 (“requiring support”), Level 2 (“requiring substantial support”), and Level 3 (“requiring very substantial support”). Asperger's and PDD-NOS are no longer used by the DSM.

What if I just suspect I am on the spectrum?

That's okay! We can still talk it through. Many other disorders have very similar traits/symptoms to ASD that my knowledge can still help with!

What will I gain?

I will help explain how ASD affects you (or someone in your life). I say it's like trying to fly a Boeing airplane without any instructions. I will help teach you what buttons do what for a smoother flight.

I will help you understand yourself, a loved one, student, or friend, in ways you probably haven't known before.

Can I have someone else in my session?

That is up to you! You have the freedom of how you want your 50 minute session to look. Please remember the same amount of time will be available even with another person.

Why can't I call you and talk to you on the phone?

I have ASD and I HATE talking on the phone (VERY typical for ASD)!

Please email or text me for a quicker response as I won't have to fight my own anxiety to call you. ; )

What form of payment do you accept?

I am cash only in the form of cashapp and venmo. I can not take insurance as a life coach.

Payment is expected at the beginning of our session via cashapp or venmo.

Can you diagnose ASD?

No. I can't diagnose anything as a life coach.

How much is a session?

A session is $120 for 50 minutes.

Can I get a gift certificate?

Yes! Any amount is available. Just contact me!
