About Me

Welcome to Spectrum Support Coaching Solutions, where I offer personalized coaching services for individuals on the autism spectrum and anyone looking to learn more about ASD. What sets me apart is that my coaching is by someone on the spectrum, providing a unique understanding and perspective. We can stem together! No masking required! I am dedicated to empowering individuals on the autism spectrum. I bring a personal and empathetic understanding to every session, ensuring that support is not only professional but also deeply relatable. My mission is to provide a safe and encouraging space where individuals can explore their potential and achieve personal growth. I believe in the power of support from someone who genuinely understands the journey as someone on the spectrum. My approach combines expert knowledge with firsthand experience, making me a trusted partner in my clients' journeys towards independence and fulfillment.

I offer education and support for a wide range of ASD and Neurotypical needs, such as behavior challenges, triggers, sensory and social issues, relationships, and more.

My online sessions make it convenient for anyone, anywhere to access my support, education, and expertise. There are some in office sessions (in Norman) available for OK clients available as well.

There is  minimal paperwork and flexible scheduling for sessions. I accept cash-only payments via cashapp and venmo at the beginning of our sessions, making the process straightforward and easy for my clients.

Understanding how ASD affects you and others is a key focus of my coaching approach. I aim to provide a safe space where you can gain insights and strategies to navigate the challenges that come with ASD.

My personal experiences with ASD, GAD, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD diagnoses influence my coaching approach by bringing empathy and a deep understanding of the unique needs of individuals on the spectrum. Both of my now adult children are on the spectrum as well. I understand what it's like to feel lost and confused. I know what it's like to have people who mean well, giving me advise that doesn't work for ASD. I remember the lectures of just "letting them get hungry enough so they'll eat." I know what it's like to feel like I was on our own little island with no support. Let me be there for you.

The most rewarding aspect of my work is making a positive impact on the lives of my clients. Seeing my clients grow, develop new skills, and improve their quality of life is truly fulfilling. I love to see parents gain knowledge of understanding their child's needs. It makes me happy to see couples start to understand each other. I can help anyone who wants to learn or have support. You are not alone!

I help clients  to learn about more about:

behavior challenges,  identify triggers, sensory issues, learn how to decompress (when and why it's needed), picky eaters, social skills, help with IEP’s and 504’s and educational goals, tantrums, sleeping issues, anger/aggression, executive functioning, irritability, hyperactivity, short attention span, impulsivity, aggression, low motivation, self-injurious behaviors, OCD type behaviors, relationships, work issues, self awareness, communication challenges/literalness, someone to talk to who "gets it," etc, and overall education and support for Neurodivergence.

MY STORY

When my son was two, I realized he was not like all the other kids his age.  I went to a psychologist who told me at the time to come back when he was 8 years old to get an official diagnosis, but he was more than likely on the spectrum. I was left with no official diagnosis, and no direction; no help. Then a year later, my daughter was born with a heart condition and was also hard of hearing. We started getting her help with all kinds of therapies, which led us back to the ASD world. I eventually had ASD diagnoses for both of my kids. One child,  Asperger's, and one child, PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified), ADHD, OCD, and GAD  (now Asperger's and PDD-NOS are all under Autism.) This all took a toll on my marriage, and I was soon a divorced mother of two special needs kids. I had no job, no education, and no income, but I had to figure out how to make things work. I ended up down a journey that would completely change my life in the best possible way; eventually. ; )

I tried to follow the advice of others, and it seemed to make things worse. I kept thinking, "but I would need ____ to make me feel better,"  so I started trying what I felt what "right." As it turned out, I was right;  things really started to turn around for my little family. I thought if I had some sort of degree or licensure, maybe people would believe me when I tried to explain what actually would work. I applied for a Master's program from the University of Oklahoma. I really didn't think I would get in, but I did! I worked full time, home schooled my kids, and went to graduate school full time. All the while, I was taking my kids to their sports, dance, speech, OT, PT, counseling and equine therapy sessions. I learned the hard way, and I made mistakes along the way, but I figured things out. I graduated and became an Licensed Professional Counselor. I also obtained two different Autism specialization certifications. I started to just see ASD and other Neurotypical clients. I realized that I understood their needs because I was probably ASD too. It took me until about a year ago to get an official diagnosis of ASD, OCD, GAD, and PTSD; I'd already had an ADHD diagnosis from before. I cried, mostly happy tears, when I saw the results; I finally had some official answers.

I tried to follow all the "rules," but I got frustrated with all the restrictions of how they thought I should help my clients: I wasn't able to see clients when they traveled out of state, I wasn't able to take them places to help them with social skills, I wasn't supposed to text with them to help them practice their skills. Insurance made my head spin because it was too confusing for me. I decided to try to simplify my life so I could continue to use my energy towards helping my clients instead of trying to figure out insurance.

I finally got brave enough to make a change (MAJOR TRIGGER FOR ASD)  to go the ASD Life Coaching route to be able to do what my clients needed, and here we are today! : )

Please let me help you figure out answers for your life!
